IT’S BACK! Congress has brought the ACA repeal back from the dead—and it’s worse than before!
The fight is far from over to protect healthcare. The attempt to repeal the ACA is still alive and it is worse than before. Millions can still lose insurance. Medicaid can still be slashed. Health insurance marketplaces can still be thrown into chaos. And New York is particularly at risk. Senators Bill Cassidy (R – LA) and Lindsey Graham (R – SC) have introduced a plan to repeal the Affordable Care Act and replace it with a “block grant” that will diminish over time. The cuts will extend to Medicaid, which will be subject to a disastrous per-capita cap. Low-income and working New Yorkers will lose their health insurance. Jobs will be lost.
New Yorkers, like millions of other Americans, have continued to fight to protect health care and prevent the Affordable Care Act from being repealed without a better plan in place. We stopped a repeal earlier this year and this was in large part due to the way we stood united against the GOP’s healthcare plan.
We need to take action now!
