Healthcare Workers Commend AG Healey for Major Settlement with Massachusetts-based Home Care Agency

More than $1 million dollar settlement is a victory for hardworking home care employees

Boston, MA (November 21, 2017) –Tyrék D. Lee, Sr., Executive Vice President of 1199SEIU United Healthcare Workers East, issued the following statement in response to today’s settlement with Maestro-Connections Home Health Systems:

“We commend Attorney General Maura Healey for her work on this major settlement with the Lawrence-based home care agency Maestro-Connections Home Health Systems. This million dollar settlement sends a strong message that home care agencies will be held accountable for failing to pay overtime and keep accurate records. AG Healey is doing the right thing by making sure dedicated home care employees – who work incredibly hard caring for our most vulnerable residents – receive appropriate pay for the hours they work.”
