Rosewood-CNA-Elomie-Minott_fa.jpgCertified Nursing Assistant Elomie Minott has a good reason to smile. That’s because she has returned to a job she loves – caring for her nursing home residents at the Rosewood Health and Rehabilitation Center, a facility in Orlando owned by Consulate Health Care. Minott was recently reinstated after she was unjustly fired a year ago. During that time, she struggled to make ends meet. “I almost lost my car and my home. If it wasn’t for my family, I couldn’t have survived,” said Minott.

Support from her union family also gave Minott the strength to fight for her rights. In addition to getting her job back, she will also receive an entire year of back pay plus interest and benefits.

“I was overjoyed when I got the news,” said Minott. “I have been a Certified Nursing Assistant for 25 years. I enjoy this work because I have a good relationship with the residents that I care for at the facility. They’re like family to me.”

Minott says she learned an important lesson from her ordeal – when times are tough, support from your family, co-workers and friends is priceless.
