Fair Havens Caregivers Won a Higher Minimum Wage and Increases

On May 24th, we ratified our contract with the majority of the votes in favor. Thanks to our 1199SEIU Bargaining Committee, we were able to win the following:
- Raise of the minimum wage to $13 an hour for cooks, $8.85 an hour for CNA’s, and $8.65 for all other departments.
- Annual increases for ALL EMPLOYEES, ranging from 3.5% to 2% over the next three years.
- We will now receive a payout at the end of the year for all unused sick days at the rate of 66% for employees with more than 4 years of service and 60% for those with less than 4 years of service.
- Employees scheduled to work holidays, will receive be paid at the rate of 12 hours. Full-time employees not scheduled to work holidays will receive straight time, or the regular hours.
