Florida Caregivers Say Yes on Amendment 4: ‘Old Politician Men’ Shouldn’t Be Interfering In Women’s Reproductive Care
October 31, 2024
Healthcare workers across the state are overwhelmingly in favor of Amendment 4 that would reverse Florida’s dangerous abortion ban and stop government interference in a woman’s most personal medical decisions.
The extreme six-week ban by the Florida Legislature has no real exceptions for rape, incest or the health of the woman even at a point many women wouldn’t even know they’re pregnant.
“It’s wrong that politicians in Tallahassee, mainly old men, are making decisions about women’s bodies and stripping away our rights,” said Karlie Cole, a Patient Care Technician at one of Tampa Bay’s largest hospitals. “And the issue extends far beyond ‘choice,’ when pregnancies become dangerous or complicated,” said the 23-year-old PCT who is pursuing a more advanced nursing degree and possibly medical school after that.
“It’s essential for women to have the right to make their own decisions about their bodies, and crucial we stand up and fight for the freedoms and healthcare we deserve, by voting yes on Amendment 4.”
Election day is November 5, with early voting open in most major Florida regions October 21 to November 3. Please check with your county’s Supervisor of Elections office to check dates and your registration status.
