As a union of healthcare workers, patient satisfaction is our highest calling. This is best secured by ensuring a highly motivated workforce with a strong voice in the workplace. We have fought to have a voice in patient care and in the workplace as a whole.
To that end, 1199SEIU works with employers, elected officials and healthcare advocates to improve the quality of healthcare and to make it available to all.
Through our efforts, we have helped secure billions of dollars in healthcare funding in New York State alone, with similar wins, though on a smaller scale, throughout regions we serve. We continue our work to strengthen the Affordable Care Act and advance legislation that expands access to quality care for all.
