1199SEIU members at Metrowest Medical Center in Framingham voted overwhelming on May 14th (40 yes, 1 no) to ratify a new three year contract, which guarantees a raise to $15 an hour for all members who have been at the medical center for ten years by 2016.

Highlights include:

• All members who have completed their probationary period by Jan. 1, 2017, and are paid less than $11.47/ hour will have their wages increased to $11.47/ hour on that date!

• Members continue to move on up the wage scale on anniversary dates each year of the contract.

• Members at the top of the scale will receive an increase on their anniversary equivalent to the average step increase for their particular classification.

• 1199SEIU members will continue to have access to the education benefits of the Training and Upgrading Fund.

Bargaining Team members included: Carlos Mendoza from Environmental Services, AnnMarie Smith a Transport Aide, and Ron Taylor of the Tech Floor.
