The healthcare workers of 1199SEIU deeply mourn the passing of our beloved lieutenant governor, Sheila Oliver.  Throughout her decades of public service, she was a trailblazer for Black women’s leadership and a steadfast champion for New Jersey’s working families.  As a union of healthcare workers, we knew Sheila Oliver as a passionate advocate for quality care, worker’s rights, social justice, and equality.  Her warmth and compassion for others were unparalleled.  Our deepest sympathies are with her loved ones as we reflect on the indelible impact she has made on our state.
