Long Island Healthcare Workers and Local Organizations call on Congressman Zeldin to Support a Plan before Repealing the Affordable Care Act
Repealing the Affordable Care Act without a plan in place would cause thousands of Long Islanders to lose their health coverage, slash millions of dollars from local hospitals and threaten jobs and the economy throughout Long Island. Community members, patient advocates, nurses and healthcare workers are demanding a replacement plan before any repeal, which includes maintaining coverage for everyone with insurance, preserving patient protections and continuing Medicaid funding.
On Thursday, January 12, dozens of local supporters will stand united outside of Congressman Lee Zeldin’s office to demand a plan be put in place before any action is taken to repeal the Affordable Care Act.
Date: Tomorrow, Thursday, January 12
Time: 11:00AM
Location: 31 Oak Street, Patchogue, NY, 11772
Participants: 1199SEIU, Long Island Progressive Coalition, and more.
