Alarmed by Threats to Healthcare Funding, Healthcare Workers and Allies Are Standing up for Care and Jobs

When: Wednesday, February 22nd, 2017, 11am

Where: Albert Einstein (College of Medicine)
The Forchheimer Building*
1300 Morris Park Ave.
Bronx, NY 10461
*Rally will take place in the Robbins Auditorium.

Who: Governor Andrew Cuomo, 1199SEIU healthcare workers, hospital executives, elected officials and community members. Speakers will include Bronx borough president Rubén Díaz Jr., Independent Democratic Conference Leader Jeff Klein, 1199SEIU president George Gresham, President and CEO of Montefiore Medicine Steven Safyer MD, and President of the Greater New York Hospital Association, Kenneth Raske.

What: Rally for healthcare funding, quality care and good healthcare jobs throughout New York State. With extreme right-wing elected officials determined to abolish the Affordable Care Act (ACA), funding for the hospitals like Montefiore is under serious threat. Losing funding would put the economic viability of our healthcare systems at risk, and would impact patient care and jobs for the Bronx and all of New York City.
