Why Dr. King Was Killed in Memphis

On April 4, 1968—exactly 45 years ago –Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated in Memphis TN. The preeminent civil rights leader of the 20th century was also a determined anti-war activist and defender of labor rights. He was in Memphis to help in the organizing of sanitation workers in that city.
