Healthcare workers back Medicaid ACO pilot proposal
As legislative discussions continue regarding the potential creation of a Medicaid ACO pilot program, the state’s largest healthcare union released the following statement today in support of the effort to create such a program as reflected in the House version of the Massachusetts state budget:
“Based on the success of the Medicare Pioneer ACO program in providing better coordinated, quality care, 1199SEIU healthcare workers support the creation of a Medicaid ACO pilot program in Massachusetts. As healthcare workers, we feel a Medicaid ACO pilot program presents an excellent opportunity to control costs while pursuing high quality, coordinated care for some of our most vulnerable and at-risk patients.”
– Veronica Turner, 1199SEIU Executive Vice President
