Healthcare Workers Endorse Claire Cronin for state representative in 11th Plymouth district
Members of 1199SEIU, the state’s largest healthcare workers union, announced their endorsement of Claire Cronin in her campaign for state representative in the 11th Plymouth district composed of precincts in Brockton and Easton.
“Claire Cronin has a proven record of standing on the side of working people. 1199SEIU members are impressed by her commitment to creating jobs, supporting our schools and protecting healthcare services for the public,” said 1199SEIU Executive Vice President Veronica Turner, who lives in the district.
More than 500 1199SEIU members live or work in the 11th Plymouth District.
1199SEIU members are proud to stand with Cronin. 1199SEIU members feel that Claire Cronin is highly qualified to deal with some of the issues facing the district such as economic development and job creation.
“Claire Cronin not only understands the need for a strong middle-class, but also understands the challenges working families face,” said Turner.
Union members say they are confident that Claire Cronin will advocate for policies that support healthcare workers in providing quality care.
“Claire Cronin is the real deal. I’m confident that as a state representative she will institute the changes we need to support our economy and working families,” said Mary Pesta, a unit coordinator at Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton and a resident of the district.
1199SEIU members will be volunteering this fall to support several candidates in state elections. Members will make phone calls, hold signs, hand out literature and door knock during the campaign season.
