Let's Win This Thing!
November 6, 2012
Dear Sisters and Brothers,
While Hurricane Sandy recovery efforts continue in New York and New Jersey, I want to remind everyone that today is Election Day! I will be proudly voting to re-elect Barack Obama as our President, and I hope you will join me.
Under President Obama, 30 million Americans will have access to health insurance as a result of The Affordable Care Act. The Student Aid and Fiscal Responsibility Act will allow millions of students to graduate college with less debt, and prevent hundreds of thousands from having to drop out because of financial difficulties. And for the first time, undocumented students who came here as children will have the opportunity to remain here and live the American Dream without fear of deportation.
Today, thousands of 1199ers are on the ground in the battleground states of Pennsylvania, Florida, Virginia, and New Hampshire to bring this election home. Many folks have been on the ground full-time for six weeks, and some for several months. We thank you all for your efforts.
We've done the work. What's important now is that everyone gets out to vote. The outcome will affect the future of 1199 families and working Americans across the country.
Some polling locations have changed because of the damage caused by Hurricane Sandy. If you live in one of the affected areas in New York, you can vote by affidavit ballot at any polling location. If you live in New Jersey, you can now vote by fax and e-mail.

Now, more than ever, we need President Obama and a Congress committed to working and middle class families. Please get out and vote today for President Barack Obama and all of 1199's endorsed candidates so we can keep our country moving forward.
